विधधरतोSप्यतिविषय: खल इति न मृषा वदन्ति विद्वान्सः |
यदयं नकुलद्वेषी सुकुलद्वेषी पुनः पिशुनः ||
अर्थ - 'सांप से भी अधिक जहरीला एक दुष्ट व्यक्ति होता है ' - ऐसा विद्वान्
लोग जब कहते हैं तो वे गलत नहीं कहते हैं | यदि सांप की दुश्मनी नकुल (उदविलाव )
से होती है तो दुष्ट व्यक्ति सुकुलद्वेषी (सज्जन और अच्छे कुल में उत्पन्न व्यक्तियों )
के दुश्मन होते हैं |
Vishadharatopyativishayah khala iti na mrushaa vadanti vidvaansah.
Yadayam nakuladveshee sukuladveshee punah pishunah.
Vishadharato + api + ativishayah. Vishadharato = more than a poisonous
snake. Api = even. Vishayah = poisonous. Khala = a wicked person.
Iti = this. Na = not Mrushaa = in vain. Vadanti = say. tell.
Vidvaansah = learned persons. Yadayam = whereas this (snake) is.
Nakuladveshee = nakula+ dveshee. Nakula = a mongoose.
Dveshee = enemical. Sukuladveshee +sukula + dveshee. Sukula =
a noble family. Punah = again. Pishunah = wicked persons.
i.e. When noble and learned persons pronounce that a wicked person is
more poisonous (and dangerous) than a poisonous snake, they do not
say it wrongly. Whereas a snake is enemical to a mongoose, wicked
persons are always enemical towards noble persons born in illustrious
families.
