Today's Subhashita.

अलब्धं  लब्धकामस्य  जनस्य  गतिरीदृषी |
अलब्धेषु मनस्तापः संचितार्थो  विनश्यति  ||       - (महा सुभाषित संग्रह )

अर्थ -       जिन व्यक्तियों की (धनवान् होने की) कामना पूर्ण नहीं हो
पाती है और जिन की कामना पूर्ण हो गयी हो, दोनों की परिस्थिति ऐसी
होती है कि जिन की कामना पूर्ण नही हो पाती है उन्हें सदैव  मानसिक
अशान्ति बनी रहती है और जिन की कामना पूर्ण हो गयी होती है उनको
भी संग्रह  किये  हुए  धन  नष्ट होने  का भय  सताता रहता  है |

Alabdham labdha kaamasya janasya gatireedrushee.
Alabdheshu manastapahh smchitaartho vinashyati.

Alabdham = unfulfilled.   Labhdukaamasya = a person
who has got his wish fulfilled.    Janasya = a persons'
Gaatireedrushee  = gatih  + eedrushee    Gatih = condition,
manner.    Eedrushee = is such, of  this kind.     Alabdheshu =
those whose desires remained unfulfilled.    Manastapah =
mental distress, anguish.     Sanchitaaarto = sanchit +artho.
Sanchita =  accumulated.        Artho = wealth.
Vinashyati =gets destroyed , perishes.

i.e.      The  condition of persons whose desire (to get rich) remains
unfulfilled and those whose desire gets fulfilled is such that the former
always suffer from mental anguish and the latter from the fear of
losing their wealth .
