भोगे रोगभयं कुले च्युतिभयं वित्ते नृपालाद्भयं
माने दैन्यभयं बले रिपुभयं रूपे तरुण्या भयम् |
शास्त्रे वादभयं गुणे खलभयं काये कृतान्ताद्भयम्
सर्वं वस्तुभयान्वितं भुवि नृणां वैराग्यमेवाSभयम् ||
अर्थ - अत्यधिक कामी व्यक्ति को रोग लगने का भय होता हैऔर कुलीन
व्यक्ति को अपने कुल की प्रतिष्ठा कम होने का भय होता है | संपत्तिवान
व्यक्ति को राजा (सरकार) द्वारा कर लगाये जाने का भय होता है और एक
सम्मानित व्यक्ति को एक दीन (गरीब ) व्यक्ति हो जाने का भय होता है |
बलवान व्यक्ति को शत्रुओं का भय होता है और युवावस्था में रूप नष्ट हो जाने
का भय होता है | शास्त्रज्ञ व्यक्तियों को वाद विवाद का भय होता है और
गुणवान व्यक्तियों को दुष्टों से भय होता है | इसी प्रकार मानव शरीर को
मृत्यु का भय सताता है | इस संसार में सभी वस्तुएं भयग्रस्त हैं और केवल
वैराग्यवान व्यक्ति का ही जीवन भयमुक्त होता है |

Shastre vaadabhayam gune khalabhayam kaaye krutaantaadbhayam

Bhoge = indulgence in sensual pleasure. Rogabhaya = fear of
contracting diseases. Kule = an illustrious dynasty. Chyutibhayam =
fear of falling into disgrace. Vitte = financial matters. Nrupaalaat =
King's , Government's Bhayam = fear. Maane = respect, Dainya =
poverty. Bale = power(ful). Ripu = enemies. Roope = beauty.
Tarunyaa = youthfulness. Shaastre =disciplines of learning. Vaad =
difference of opinion, dispute. Bhayam = fear. Gune = virtues.
Khala = wicked persons. Kaaye = body. Krutaantraadbhayam =
krutaantaat + bhayam. Krutaantaat = from death (personified).
Sarvam = all. Vastubhayaanvitam = vastu +bhaya+ anvitam.
Vastu = things. Anvitam = linked to, associated with. Bhuvi =
in this world. Nrunaam = people. Vairagyamevaabhayam =
vairaagyam +eva + abhayam. Vairagya=indifference to worldly things
and life. iva = only, except. Abhayam = without any fear.
i/e/ A person indulging in sexual pleasures is fearful of contracting diseases.
and a person born in an illustrious family fears falling into disgrace. A rich
person always fears the Government (for imposition of tax on his wealth), and
a respectable person fears of becoming an ordinary poor person. A powerful
person is fearful of his enemies, and in youth there is fear of losing the beauty.
Among learned persons there is fear of disputes and difference of opinion, and
virtuous persons are fearful of wicked persons. Human body is always fearful
of death. In fact every thing is fearful of something or other in this world, except
the persons following 'Vairagya', who are always without any kind of fear,
