Visrujyaa shoorpavaddoshaan gunaan gruhnaati saadhavh.
Doshagraahee gunatyaage chaalaneeya hi durjanah.
Visrijjyaa = to be let out. Shoorpavaddoshaan = shoorppavat +
Doshaan. Shoorpavat like a winnowing basket for separating
impurities from grains etc. Doshaan =defects, shortcomings.
Gunaan = virtues, qualities. Gruhnaati = acquires, Saadhavah =
noble and virtuous persons. Doshagraahee = dosha + graahee.
Graahee = acquirer. Gunatyaagee = Guna +tyaagee. Guna =
virtue. Tyaagee = giving up. leaving behind Chaalaneeya =
like a filter or a sieve. Hi = certainly, Durjanh = a wicked person.
i.e. Noble and righteous persons remove all the defects in them
and accept only the virtues like a winnowing basket (which removes
the chafe from the grain). On the other hand wicked persons acquire
only defects and shortcomings and leave behind all virtues, like a
filter or a sieve.
