Today's Subhashita.

तर्कभाषा  मुखे  यस्य  हस्ते  यस्य च  मञ्जरी |

मुक्तावली  यस्य कण्ठे तस्य  वश्या मनोरमा ||    - सभातरंग 

अर्थ -      जो  व्यक्ति तर्कपूर्ण भाषा बोलने मे  कुशल हो (तर्कशास्त्र में 

निष्णात हो ) ,हाथ में पुष्पगुच्छ लिये हुए हो , गले में मोतियों की माला  

धारण किये  हुए हो, वह सुन्दर स्त्रियों को अपनी ओर् आकर्षित  ( वश में ) 

करने मे समर्थ  होता  है  |

( इस सुभाषित द्वारा यह प्रतिपादित किया गया है कि तर्कपूर्ण   मधुर भाषा, 

आदरपूर्ण व्यवहार  तथा सुन्दर वस्त्राभूषणों से सुसज्जित व्यक्ति ही सुन्दर 

स्त्रियों को अपनी ओर् आकर्षित करने में सफल होते हैं |)

Tarkabhaashaa mukhe yasya haste yasya cha manjari.

Muktaavali yasya kanthe tasya vashyaa manoramaa.

Tarkbhaashaa =   science of reasoning. a particular book

dealing with the subject of reasoning..   Mukhe = mouth 

(expert in speaking assertively)     Yasya = whose.

Haste = in the hands.    Cha = and     Manjari =  flowers.

Muktaavali = a necklace of pearls.   Kanthe = neck.

Tasya = his      Vashyaa = under control, obedient.

Manoramaa = a beautiful woman, .

i.e.      A person who is adept in speaking politely and assertively,

with a bouquet of flowers in his hand (courteous), a necklace of pearls

in his neck (well attired) is able to control (attract) beautiful women

towards him.)

(Through this subhashita the author has outlined the qualities which 

attract women towards men.)
