Today's Subhashita.

नास्ति वेदसंमं शास्त्रं नास्ति शान्तिसमं  सुखम्  |
नास्ति  सूर्यसमं  ज्योतिर्नास्ति ज्ञानसमं  धनम्  ||

अर्थ -    वेदों के समान श्रेष्ठ अन्य कोई धार्मिक ग्रन्थ नहीं हैं और
न मानसिक शान्ति के समान अन्य कोई सुख है |  सूर्य के समान
प्रकाश उत्पन्न करने वाला  संसार में अन्य कोई नहीं है  तथा ज्ञान
के समान अन्य और कोई  धन या संपत्ति श्रेष्ठ नहीं  होती है |

Naasti Vedasamam shaastram naasti shaantisamam  sukham.
Naasti Sooryasamam jyotirnaasti gyaanasamam dhanam,
Naasti = non-existent.       Vedasamam = Veda + samam.
Veda  = sacred religious texts enshrined in four ancient
treatises of Hindu Religion named aa Rigveda, Yajurveda,
Saamveda and Atharvaveda.      Samam = equal to, same.
Shaastram = religious treatise.   Shaanti = peace of mind.
Sukham = happiness.    Soorya = the Sun.    Jyotirnaasti =
Jyotih +naasti.     Jyoti = brightness.    Gyaana = knowledge.
Dhanam = wealth, riches.

i.e.     No other religious treatise is equal to the Vedas and no
form of happiness is equal to the peace of mind.   Similarly,
nothing in this world is brighter than the Sun in the sky, and
no form of wealth is equal to the knowledge and learning one
may have acquired.
