Today's Subhashita.

आन्तरे चैव वाह्यो  च  राजा  यश्चैव  सर्वदा  |
आदिष्टो  नैव कम्पेत  स  राज वसतिं वसेत   || - महासुभषितसंग्रह (४८७७)

अर्थ -     जिस राज्य (देश)  में  उसका राजा (शासक) अन्तर्मन से तथा वाह्य
रूप से भी शासन करने में एक सा व्यवहार करता है तथा  सदैव  उचित आदेश
देने में कभी कम्पित (डरता  और झिझकता )नहीं होता  है , वहां सदैव स्थिरता बनी
रहती है और ऐसे राज्य  में ही  निवास करना श्रेयस्कर  है  |

Aantare chaiva vaahye  cha  raaja  yashchaiva  sarvadaa.
Aadishto  naiva kampeta  sa  raaja  vasatim  vaset.

Aantare = inwardly.   Chaiva = cha + iva,     Cha = and .    Iva =
similarly.      Vaahye =  outwardly.    Rajaa = a King, a Ruler.
Yashchaiva = yahh +cha+iva.    Yahh = he,    Sarvadaa = always.
Aadishto - while issuing orders, giving command.     Naiva = never.
Kampeta = tremble, waver.    Sa = that, he.    Raaja = kingdom,
government.     Vasatim = continues to remains stable,.
Vaset =  should reside, is worth living.

i.e.         A country, whose King ( or its  Ruler) is always very firm both inwardly
and outwardly in his administration and is never afraid and wavering while giving
proper orders, continues to remain stable and such a country is worth living .
