ये दीनेषु दयालवः स्पृशति यानल्पोSपि न श्रीमदः
व्यग्रा ये परोपकारकरणे हृष्यन्ति ये याचिताः |
स्वस्थाः सन्ति च यौवनोन्मादमहाव्याधिप्रकोपेSपि ये
तैः स्तंभैरिव सुस्थिरैः किल भराक्लान्ता धरा धार्यते ||
अर्थ - जो व्यक्ति गरीबों के प्रति दयालु होते है और जिन्हें अपने
ऐश्वर्य और शक्ति का जरा भी घमण्ड नहीं होता है, जो परोपकार
करने के लिये सदैव तत्पर रहते हैं , याचकों के आने पर प्रसन्न होते
हैं, तथा यौवन (जवानी) रूपी महाव्याधि से प्रभावित न हो कर स्वस्थ
ही रहते हैं, क्या ऐसे ही व्यक्ति एक भवन के मजबूत खंभों की तरह्
इस कष्टों से भरी हुई पृथ्वी के भार को नहीं उठा रहे है ?

Vyagraa ye paropakaarakarane hrushyanti ye yaacitaa.
Svasthaa santi cha youvanonmaadamahaavyaadhiprapokepi ye
Taih stambhaih riva susthiraih kil bharaaklaantaa dharaa dhaaryate,
Ye = they, those.. Deeneshu = poor persons. Dayaalavah = kind,
Sprushati = afflicted by. Yaanalapopi = Yaan + alpo +api.
Yaan = who. Alpo = a little Api = even. Na = not .
Sshreemadah = Shree + madah. Shree = good fortune and power.
Madah =intoxication, pride. Vyagraa = keen, engrossed by.
Paropakaar = charity.. Karane = doing. Hrushyanti = delighted.
Yaachitaah = beggars, needy persons. Svasthaah = well, at ease.
Santi = are. Yauvanonmaad = indiscretion or passion during youth.
Mahaavyadhi = severe disease. Prakopepi = prakope + api.
Prakopa = wrath, fury. Taih = they. Stambhairiva. Stambhaih +
iva , Stambhaih =supporting columns or pillars. Iva = like,
Susthiraih = stable, cool. Kil = is it so > Bharaaklaantaa =
tired by carrying a weight,. Dharaa = Earth. Dhaaryate = support, hold.
i.e. Those who are always very kind towards poor people,and who
do not have slightest pride over the good fortune and power, and who
are always eager to help others and are delighted on being approached
for help, and are unaffected by the severe disease of passion and
indiscretion during youth, are such persons not supporting this Earth
full of miseries. like the strong supporting pillars of a building ?
