अर्थः सुखं कीर्तिरपीहि मा भूदनर्थ एवाSतु तथाSपि धीराः |
निजप्रतिज्ञामनुरुध्यमाना महोद्यमाः कर्म समारभन्ते ||
अर्थ - संपत्ति, सुख तथा कीर्ति (प्रसिद्धि) में कमी होने पर और महान्
विपत्ति के समय पर भी धैर्यवान् व्यक्ति अपने ध्येय और निश्चय पर
दृढ रहते हुए और भी अधिक उद्यम पूर्वक अपने कार्यों को संपन्न करने
के लिये प्रयत्नशील रहते हैं |

Nijapratigyaamanurudhyamaanaa mahodyamaa karma samaarabhante,
Arthh = wealth, money. Sukham = happiness. Keertih +apeehi.
Keerti = fame. Apeehi = concealed. lost Maa = no, Bhoodanartha =
Bhoot +anartha. Bhoot = happen, become.. Anartha = disaster..
Evaastu = eva + astu. Eva = like. Astu = let it be. Tathaapi =
even then. Dheeraah + brave, composed. Nija + pratigyaam +
anurudhyamaana. Nija = one's own. Pratigyaam = declaration, vow.
Anurudhyamaana = adhering to, bound by. Mahodyamaa = great efforts.
Karma = action. Samaarabhangte = take in hand.
i.e. Even by losing their wealth, fame and happiness, and while
facing a disastrous situation, brave and composed persons remain
firm on their vows and commitments and continue with their work in
hand with more zeal and commitment.
