Today's Subhashita.

हंसास्सर्वाङ्गशुचयः  पद्मेभ्यो   बहिरासते  |
अन्तर्विशान्ति  मधुपाः श्रीमतां गतिरीदृषी ||- सुभषितरत्नाकर

अर्थ -   हंसों का सारा शरीर जल में रहते हुए भी शुद्ध और श्वेत रहता है,
और  कमल का पुष्प भी कीचड मे उत्पन्न हो कर भी बाहर से  शुद्ध रहते है |
मधु मक्खियां भी विशेष शान्ति पूर्वक पुष्पों से मधु और पराग एकत्रित करने
में लगी रहती है  |   सज्जन और महान्  व्यक्ति भी इसी  तरह बुरायियों
को त्याग कर  शुद्ध आचरण वाले तथा गुणग्राहक होते हैं |

Hamsaassarvangashuchayah padmebhyo  bahiraasate.
Antarvishaanti madhupaah shreemataam  gatireedrushee.

Hamsaassarvaamgashuchayah = Hamsaah +sarvaamga+ shuchayah.
Hamsaah  = swans.     Sarvaanga = whole body.       Shuchayah =
clean, pure, white.     Padmebhyo = lotus flowers.    Bahiraasate =
bahih + aasate.    Bahih = outside.    Aasate =  remain, stay.
Antarvishaanti = antar +vishaanti.    Antar = in the interior.
Vishaanti =  speciaally peaceful. ( the prefix 'vi' meaning special is
added before the word shaanti i.e. peace).    Madhupaah = honey bees
Shreemataam = noble and famous persons.   Gatireedrushee =
gatih +eedrushee.      Gatih = position, situation.        Eedrushi =.
endowed with these same qualities.

i.e.     Swans while swimming in water always remain white and
shining, and lotus flowers also remain bright and clean although they
grow on muddy water.   Honey bees also  silently remain engrossed
in collecting nectar from flowers.   In the same manner noble and great
persons  also maintain an unblemished and virtuous lifestyle.
