Today's Subhashita.

आपत्सु किं विषादेन सम्पतौ विस्मयेन  किं  |
भवितव्यं   भवत्येव  कर्मणामेष  निश्चयः    ||  -महासुभषितसंग्रह (4901)

अर्थ -     आपदा (दुर्भाग्य) के  आने  पर विषाद करने से  और धन
संपत्ति  प्राप्त होने  पर  हर्ष एवं आश्चर्य  करने से  कुछ नहीं  होगा क्यों
कि जिस तरह्  के  कर्म (अच्छे या बुरे ) किये  गये होंगे उनके अनुसार   
ही  जो होना  होता  है  वह् अवश्य  ही घटित  होगा  |

Aapatsu  kim  vishaadena  sampatau  vismayena  kim.
Bhavitavyam bhatyeva  karmanaamesha  nishchayah.

Aapatsu = calamities,  misfortune.     Kim =  what    Vishedena =
by being sad, grieving.    Sampatau = wealth, affluence.
Vismayena = by marveling at.      Bhavitavyam = destined to
happen.      Bhavatyeva =  will happen.    Karmanaamesha =
karmanaam =esha.    Karmanaam = actions, deeds.  Esha -obtain.
Nishchayah =  certainly

i.e.       It is futile to grieve while facing a calamity or misfortune and
also marveling at acquisition of wealth,, because whatever is destined
will definitely happen according to the deeds (good or bad) of a person.
