Today's Subhashita.

Asti jalam jalaarashau kshaaram tsatkim  vidheeyate.
Laghurapi varam sa kpoopo yatraakantham janaah.

Asti = is.   Jalam = water.    Jalaraashau = a big lake or a waterbody.
Kshaaram = brakish, alkaline water.  .   Tatkim = tat +kim.
Tat = that, so.     kim = what ?     Vidheeyate =  intended,  pass for.
Tena = thus.     Laghurapi = laghuh +api.    Laghu = small.    Api = even.
varam =  preferably,  rather than.   sa = that.    Koopo = a well.
Yatraakantham = yatra +aakantham.    Yatra = where.     Aakantham=
up to the throat, bellyful.     Janah = a person.    Pibati =  drinks.

i.e.       If the water of a big lake or a water body is brackish and  unfit for
drinking then of what use it is ?   A well of potable water , even if it may
be very small , is preferable, because people can drink bellyful its sweet
water  (as much they like).
