Today's Subhasita.

आलस्यं स्त्रीसेवा सरोगता जन्मभूमि वात्सल्यम्  ||
संतोषो  भीरुत्वं  षड्व्याघाता  महत्त्वस्य              || - सुभाषित रत्नाकर

अर्थ  -    आलस्य , स्त्रियों के प्रति आसक्ति, बीमारी,  अपने जन्मस्थान
के  प्रति अत्यधिक आसक्ति ,संतोषी स्वभाव  तथा  भीरुत्व (डरपोक होना)
ये छः महत्त्वपूर्ण रुकावटें (एक व्यक्ति की उन्नति में ) बाधक होती  हैं  |

Aalasyam streesevaa sarogataa janmabhoomi vaatsalyam.
santsho  bheerutvam  shadvyaaghaataa  mahattvasya.

Aalasyam = laziness.   Streeseva=  infatuation towards women.
Sarogataa = sickness.    Janmabhoomi = birth place.  Vatsalyam =
affection, fondness.     Santosho = contendedness.    Bheerutvam =
cowardice.   Shadvyaaghaataa= shad + vyaaghaataa.    Shad = six.
Vyaaghaataa = obstacles, impediments.   Mahattvasya = of importance

i.e.       Laziness, infatuation towards women, sickness, too much
attachment with one's place of birth, contentedness with one's lot,
and cowardice. these are the six impediments in the progress of a
person in his life,
