Today's Subhashita.

अहो  बत  सभा  सभ्यैरियं  मौनादधः कृता  |
सन्तो वदन्ति यत्सत्यं सभा न प्रविशन्ति वा || - महासुभषितसंग्रह (४१६६)

अर्थ -      आह  !  कितने दुःख  की बात  है  कि  संत महात्मा जो जनहित
की  सत्य की बातें कहते हैं वे प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्तियों (राजनेताओं) की सभाओं
में प्रवेश ही नहीं पाती हैं और यदि पहुंच भी जाती है तो  वे प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्ति
उन पर आचरण करने के बदले मौन धारण कर लेते हैं |

(उपर्युक्त सुभाषित में व्यक्त विचारों की सत्यता हम सारे संसार में विभिन्न
देशों की लोकसभाओं ओर अन्य  सभाओं  के क्रियाकलापों में देख सकते हैं | )

Aho bat sabhaa sabhyaiRiyam maunaadadhh krutaa.
Santo vadanti yatsatysam sabhaa na pravishanti  vaa ,

Aho =oh !    Bat = alas.    Sabhaa = an assembly.   Sabhyairiyam =
Sabhyaih + iyam.    Sabhyaih = civilized persons.    Iyam = this.
Maunaadhatah= Maun + aadhatah.    Maun = silence.   Adhatah =
keep, maintain.   Krutaa = acquired     Santo =  noble  persons.
Vadanti = say, preach.     Yatsatyam = yat +satyam.   Yat = that.
Satyam = truth.    Na = not.    Pravishyannti = enters.  Vaa = is.

i.e.      Alas !    Whatever eternal truth the saintly and righteous persons
say for the benefit of common people, does not enter in the portals
of various assemblies, and even if  it reachs there, instead of acting on
such advice the honourable  Councillors maintain  silence over it (do
not take any appropriate action).
