Today's Subhashita.

आकीर्णः शोभते  राजा  न  विविक्तं  कदाचन  |
ये  तं विविक्तमिच्छन्ति  ते तस्य रिपवः स्मृताः ||-  महासुभषित सं ग्रह (४१८६)

अर्थ -     एक राजा (वर्तमान संदर्भ में एक शासक )  तभी सुशोभित होता है जब
वह अपने प्रसंशकों तथा हितैषियों से घिरा हुआ हो } अकेला होने की स्त्बिति में
वह्  कभी भी सुशोभित  नहीं होता है और जो भी व्यक्ति उसके अकेला होने की
इच्छा करते है वे . निश्चय ही उसके शत्रुओं  के रूप में जाने  जाते  हैं |

(इस सुभाषित में वर्णित स्थिति वर्तमान संदर्भ  मे भारत के वर्तमान  प्रधान
मंत्री  की प्रसिद्धि तथा विपक्ष द्वारा उनकी आलोचना से शतशः प्रमाणित होती है |)

Aakeernah shobhate raajaa na viviktam  kadaachan.
Ye tam viviktamicchanti tey ttasya ripavah smrutaah.

Aakeerna = surrounded,      Shobhate = embellished, beautified.
Raajaa = a king,  A Ruler.    Na = not.      Vivikta = alone.
Kadaachana = at any time.    Ye = those.   Tam = him.
Viviktamicchanti = viviktam + icchanti.     Icchanti = wish
tey = they..    Tasya = his.    Ripavah = enemies.   Smrutaah =
declared as,  remembered as.    

i.e.     A king  (a Ruler in the present context) is embellished  when he is
surrounded by his admirers and well wishers, and never when he is alone.
Those who wish him to be a lonely person are surely considered to be his
enemies.

(The statement in the above Subhashita is proved to be true when we
see the criticism of the of popularity  of the present Prime Minister of India
by  various political parties opposing his Government.)
