आतुरे नियमो नास्ति बाले वृद्धे तथैव च |
पराचाररते चैव एष धर्मः सनातनः || - महासुभाषितसंग्रह (४५४२)
अर्थ - रोगी, आपत्ति में पडे हुए, बालक तथा वृद्ध व्यक्ति और उसी
तरह दूसरों की सहायता मे लगे हुए व्यक्तियों के लिये सामान्य परिस्थिति
में व्यवहार किये जाने वाले सामाजिक नियमों का पालन करना आवश्यक
नहीं है. यही सनातन धर्म की मान्यता है |
( धर्मशास्त्रों में इस प्रकार के कार्यों को आपद्धर्म कहा गया है )
Aature niyamo naasti baale vruddhe tathaivs cha,
Paraachaararate chaiva esh dharmah sanaatanah,
Aature + sick or suffering persons Niyamo = rules, restraints.
Naasti = not in existence. Baale = children. Vruddhe = aged
persons. Tathaiva = similarly. Cha = and,. Paraachararate =
para + aachaaara + ratey para = to others. Aachaar.+good
or established behaviour, Rato - engaged in, doing. Chaiva =
as also. Esha = this Dharmh = religious merit. Sanaatanh =
eternal. (Sanatan Dharma is the name of the main Religion of
Indian Hindus.)
i.e. It is ordained in the 'Sanaatan Dharm' , (the Religion of
Hindus), that sick or suffering people, children, aged persons as
also persons engaged in helping the needy persons, need not
(strictly) observe the established rules of good and righteous
behaviour as prescribed in the Shastras.
(Such deviation from the normal procedures is termed as ;duty
during a crisis' .)
