Today's Subhashita.

आगमं निर्गमं स्थानं तथा वृद्धिक्षयावुभौ  |
विचार्य सर्व पण्यानां कारयेत्क्रयविक्रयौ  || - महासुभषितसंग्रह (४३८६)

अर्थ -      व्यापार करने का स्थान, वहां आने जाने के साधन और
जिन वस्तुओं का व्यापार करना हो उनका सोच समझ कर चुनाव
कर, तथा  व्यापार मे वृद्धि  और हानि दोनों ही की सम्भावनाओं पर
अच्छी तरह विचार करने  के बाद ही क्रय विक्रय (खरीदना और
बेचना ) प्रारम्भ करना चाहिये |

Aagamam nirgamam sthaanam tathaanam vruddhikshayaavubhau.
vichaarya sarva panyaanaam kaarayetkrayavikrayau.

Aagamam =  coming, income.     Nirgam = going out, expenditure.
Sthaanam = place.    Tathaa = as also.   Vruddhikshyaavubhau  =
vruddhi +Kshayaad+ ubhau.    Vruddhi = increase.   kshayaad =
due to destruction or decay.   Ubahu = both.    Vichaarya = after
due consideration.    Sarva = all.    Panyaanaam =  articles of trade
or commodities.    Kaarayetkrayavikrayau = Kaarayet +  kraya +
vikraya.     Kaarayet = do.    Kraya = purchase.   Vukrayau = sale.

i.e.         Only after  carefully considering the place of business, the
facilities of import and export there, selecting the items to be traded
as also the possibilities of both increase  and decrease  in business.
one should  start  the business of the sale and purchase of various
items to be traded.
