Today's Subhashita.

यस्य  मित्रेण  संभाषा  यस्य  मित्रेण  संस्थितिः |
मित्रेण  सह यो भुङ्क्ते ततो नास्तीह पुण्यवान्  ||  - सुभषितरत्नाकर

अर्थ -      जिस व्यक्ति का अपने मित्रों के साथ बहुत अच्छा
सहयोगपूर्ण संपर्क और व्यवहार होता है और वह् उनके साथ
आहार विहार में भी संलग्न रहता है उसके समान पुण्यवान्
व्यक्ति इस संसार में और कोई नहीं है |
 (यह सुभाषित  'मित्रम्'  शीर्षक के अन्तर्गत  संग्रहीत है | इसमे
अतिशयोक्ति अलंकार के प्रयोग के द्वारा एक सज्ज और
भरोसेमन्द मित्र की महत्ता  को प्रतिपादित  किया गया है  | )

Yasya mitrena sambhaashaa yasya mitrensa sansthitih .
Mitrena saha yo  bhunkate tato naasteeha ounyavaan.

Yasya = whose     Mitrena = with friends.   Sambhaashaa =
consultation, discourse.    Sansthitih = good association.
Saha = with.    Yo = who.   Bhunkte = eats.   Tato = afterwards.
Naasteeha = Naasti+ iha.    Naasti = non-existence.  
Iha = in this world.     Punyavaan = virtuous, pious.

i.e.       A person who has  a very good relationship and
rapport with his virtuous friends and shares meals with
them,  no one else in this World is more  holier and virtuous
than him.

(This Subhashita has been categorized under the head
'Friendship'  and has eulogized the friendship with noble
and virtuous persons by the use of a hyperbole. )
