Today's Subhashita.

स्वाभाविकं तु यन्मित्रं  भाग्यैनैवाSभिजायते  |
तदकृत्रिमसौहार्दमापत्स्वपि  न  मुञ्चति      ||  -सुभषितरत्नाकर

अर्थ -      ऐसा  व्यक्ति जो स्वभाव से ही तुम्हारा  परम  मित्र हो
बडे भाग्य से मिलता है क्यों कि उसकी तुम्हारे प्रति मित्रता और
प्रेम कृत्रिम (बनावटी)नहीं होते  है और विपत्ति और बुरे समय में
भी वह् अपनी मित्रता को नहीं त्यागता है (और  सहायता करता है) |

Svaabhkam tu yanmixtram bhaagyainaivaabhijaayate.
Tadakrutrimasauhaardamaapatsvaapi  na munchate.

Svaabhikam = naturally.    Tu = but, and.   Yanmtram = yat +
mitram,    Yat = that.     Mitram = a friend.   Bhaagyaina +
eva +abhijaayate.     Bhaagyena =  by destiny., luck.   Eva =
really.    Abhijaayate = become.    Tat +akritrim+sauhaardam +
aapatsva +api.    Tat = that, who.      Akrutrim = not artificial
i. e  natural.          Sauhardam = affection, friendship,  .
Aapadsu=  adversity, hard times.     Api  = even.   Munchate =
Munchate = abandons.

i.e.     Only a very lucky person  is  privileged to have  a good
friend,  who is friendly   by  nature, because his affection  and
friendship  is never artificial and he does  not abandon his friends
even during adversity and hard times (and provides help.)
