नहि बुद्धिगुणेनैव सुहृदामर्थदर्शनम् |
कार्यसिद्धिः पथः सूक्ष्मः स्नेहाSप्युपलभ्यते || - सुभाषित रत्नाकर
अर्थ - केवल बुद्धिमान् और गुणवान होने पर भी सज्जन
व्यक्तियों को धन संपत्ति के दर्शन नहीं हो पाते हैं क्यों कि कार्यसिद्धि
का (सफलता पाने का) रास्ता बहुत कठिन और संकरा होता है तथा
बडी कोमलता (धैर्य पूर्वक कार्य करने) से ही सुगम हो पाता है |
Buddhigunenaiva suhrudaamarthadarshanam.
Kaaryasiddhih pathah sookshamah snehaapyupalabhyate.
Nahi = surely not, by no means. Buddhiguennaiva = Buddhi+
gunen +iva. Buddhi = intellect. Gunen = virtues, qualities.
eva = really, already. Suhrudaamarthadarshanam = suhrudaam+
artha + darshanam. Suhrudaam = noble persons, friends.
Artha = wealth, money. Darshanam = show. Kaaryasiddhih =
accomplishment of a work. Pathah = road, path, Sookshmah =
narrow and delicate. Snehaapyupalabhyate = snehaaa + api +
upalabhyate. Sneha = tenderness, affection. Api = also, even
(to express emphasis). Upalabhyate = to be achieved.
i.e. Simply by being intelligent and virtuous people are not
able to acquire wealth , because the path of achieving it is very
narrow and tricky and it can be traversed only through tenderness
and determination.
