Today's Subhashita.

आजगाम यदा  लक्ष्मीर्नारिकेलफलाम्बुवत्  |
निर्जगाम यदा लक्ष्मीर्गजभुक्तकपित्थवत्   || -  महासुभषित सं ग्रह (४४७१)

अर्थ -    धन संपत्ति किसी व्यक्ति के पास आती है तो वह् नारियल
वृक्ष के फलों के अन्दर पाये जाने वाले रस की तरह अदृश्य रूप से
धीरे धीरे  आती है , परन्तु जब पलायन करती (नष्ट होती) है तो वह
एक हाथी द्वारा कपित्थ वृक्ष को अपना पेट भरने के समय नष्ट
भृष्ट किये जाने के  समान अचानक और तुरन्त नष्ट हो जाती है |

Aajagaama yada Lakshmir-naarikela-phalaambuvat.
Nirjagaama yadaa lakshmir-gajabhukta-kapitthavat.

Aajagaam =  arrives, comes    Yadaa = when.     Lakshmi  =
wealth, Goddess Lakshmi, wealth personified.    Naasrikela =
Coconut.   Phalaambuvat = phala+ambuvat.   Phala = fruit.
Ambuvat = like the water of.    Nirjagaam = departs, exits.
Gajabhuta = eaten up or trampled. by an elephant.
Kapitthavat = like a wood-apple tree.

i.e.      Wealth is acquired slowly and silently like the milky
juice hidden  inside the coconut shells , but when it exits or
is lost ,it is suddenly like an apple wood tree trampled by an
elephant while eating its leaves
