Today's Subhashita.

आदित्यस्योदये गानं ताम्बूलं भारतीकथा  |
इष्टा भार्या सुमित्रं च अपूर्वाणि दिने दिने   ||  - महासुभषितसंग्रह (4724)

अर्थ -   पत्नी सौम्य और सुन्दर हो , मित्र विश्वसनीय  हों, तथा प्रतिदिन
दिनचर्या  का प्रारम्भ  संगीत और साहित्य के समारोहों में आमन्त्रित तथा
ताम्बूल (पान) प्रस्तुत  कर सम्मानित  हो कर हो तो ऐसी  स्थिति सचमुच
ही( सुखदायक ) और अपूर्व होगी |

Aadityasyodaye gaanam taambo olam bhaaratikathaa.
Ishtaa bhaaryaa sumitram cha apoorvaani dine dine.

Aadityasyodaye = aaditasya+ udaye.    Aaditasya = the Sun's.
Udaye = rising (in the morning)                Gaanam = singing.
Taamboolam =  areca nut and other aromatic condiments wrapped
in a betal leaf offered to guests in various ceremonies as a gesture
of respect.     Bharati Kathaa =  literary discourses.            Ishtaa =
loving.    Bhaaryaa = wife.   Sumitram =  good friends.  Cha = and..
Apoorvaani =  unique, unparallelled.     Dine dine =  day by day.

i.e.     If a person has a loving and obedient wife, reliable and
virtuous friends, and his daily routine starts with  participation in
musical conferences and literary discourses where he is offered
'Taambool' as a mark of respect towards him, then such a situation
is unique and unparallelled .
