Today's Subhashita.

स्वभावो  नोपदेशेन  शक्यते  कर्तुमन्यथा  |
सुतप्तमपि  पानीय पुनर्गच्छति शीतताम  ||  सुभषितरत्नाकर

भावार्थ -   किसी व्यक्ति  के  मूल स्वभाव को उसे उपदेश दे
 कर बदलना संभव नहीं  होता है |  कुछ समय बीतने पर वह
पुनः अपने मूल स्वभाव को   प्राप्त कर लेता है  | उदाहरणार्थ
पीने वाले  जल को जो सामान्यतया ठण्डा होता है यदि बहुत
 गरम  भी कर दिया जाय तो वह कुछ  समय व्यतीत  होने के
बाद पुनः ठंडा  हो जाता है |


Svabhaavo nopadeshena shakyate kartumanyathaa.
Sutaptamapi  paaneeya punargacchati sheetataam.

Svabhaavo = inherent nature of a person.   Nopadeshena =
na +upadeshena.   Na = not.    Upadeshena = by counselling.
Shakyate = can be ,    Kartumanyathaa = kartum + anyathaa.
Kartum = do do.    Anyathaa = otherwise.    Sutaptamapi =
sutaptam + api.     Sutaptam = very hot.    Paaneeya = potaable
water.    Punargacchati = punh + gacchati.     Punh = again
Gacchati = go towards, turns into,    Sheetataam = coolness.

i.e.   One can not change the inherent nature of a person by
giving him advice  and good counselling. After sometime
he will regain his usual nature just like potable water, which
is normally cold but when heated becomes very hot, but again
turns into  cold water after some time,
