Today's Subhashita.

आलस्यं    हरति  प्रज्ञा  धनमायुर्यशो   बलं  |
यस्मिन्नास्ते तदालस्यं सर्वदोषाकरस्तु सः ||-महासुभषितसंग्रह (5296)

भावार्थ -     आलस्य करने से मनुष्य की बुद्धि , संपत्ति, आयु , यश और
बल का नाश  हो जानता है |  जिस व्यक्ति में आलस्य का दुर्गुण नहीं होता
 है वह इन सभी प्रकार के दोषों से मुक्त होता है |

Aalasyam harati pragyaa dhanamaayuryasho balam.
Yasminnaaste tadaalasyam sarvadoshaakarastu sah.

Aalasyam = laziness.    Harati = destroys, takes away.    Pragyaa =
intelligence, wisdom.    Dhanamaayuryasho = dhanam _ aayuh + yasho.
Dhana = wealth.    Aayu =  duration of life.    Yashjo = fame.,    Balam =
power, strength.         Yasminnaaste = yasmin + naaste.             Yasmin =
in whom.    naaste = non existent.    Tadaalasyam = tat + aalasyam.
Tat = that.    Sarvadoshaakarastu = Sarva + dosha+akarh + tu.     Sarva =
all.    Dosha = shortcomings, defects.   Akarah = free from.  Sah = he.

i.e.      Laziness in a person destroys his intelligence, wealth, duration  of
life, fame  and strength.  On the other hand those persons who are not
lazy, are free from all these shortcomings.
