विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद्द्याति पात्रताम् |
पात्रत्वाद्धनमाप्नोति धनाद्धर्मं ततः सुखम् ||
भावार्थ - विद्या प्राप्त करने से व्यक्ति विनम्र हो जाता है ,
और विनम्रता से योग्यता (विभिन्न कार्यों को करने की क्षमता )
प्राप्त होती है | योग्यता से धन की प्राप्ति होती है तथा धन का
सदुपयोग धार्मिक कार्यों में करने से अन्ततः सुख प्राप्त होता है |
(इस सुभाषित के माध्यम से विद्या प्राप्ति के महत्व को प्रतिपादित
किया गया है | )
Vidyaa dadaati vinayam vinayaadyati paatrataam.
Paatratvaaddhanamaapnoti dhanaaddharmam tatah sukham.
Vidya = knowledge, learning. Dadaati = gives. Vinayam =
modesty, propriety of conduct. Vinayaadyaat + yaati.
Vinayaat = through humility. Yaati = achieves. Paatrataam =
worthiness, Patratvaaddhanamaapnoti =Paatratvaat +dhanam +
aapnoti. Paatratvaat + through worthiness. Dhana = wealth.
Apnoti = obtains. Dhanaaddharm = dhanaat + dharmam.
Dhanaat = through wealth. Dharmam = religious austerity.
Tatah = as a result, therefrom. Sukham = happiness.
i,e, Knowledge and learning makes a person modest, and
with modesty he is able to achieves worthiness (expertise in
various types of skills). With the help of his skills he is able to
acquire wealth. If wealth is utilized with religious austerity it
ultimately results in all round happiness.
