Today's Subhashita.

इह  यत्क्रियते  कर्मं  तत्परत्रोपभुज्यते    |
सिक्तं मूलस्य वृक्षस्य फलं शाखासु दृश्यते ||- महासुभषितसंग्रह

भावार्थ -   इस संसार मे जो भी कर्म हम  करते हैं उनका फल (परिणाम)
हमें अन्यत्र उसी प्रकार भोगना पडता  है जैसे कि यद्दपि एक  पेड की जड
को ही जल से सींचा जाता है   पर फल  उसकी  शाखाओं पर ही लगते हैं |

(इस सुभाषित में एक महान संदेश यह छिपा है  कि  किये गये अच्छे
और बुरे कर्मों का फल तत्काल न मिल कर अन्यत्र  कहीं और किसी
अन्य रूप में प्राप्त होता है जैसे यदि कोई व्यक्ति बुरे कर्म करता है तो
उसके परिवार को और समाज को उसका दुष्परिणाम  अन्ततः भोगना
पडता है | इसी प्रकार सत्कर्मो से  भी उस व्यक्ति का परिवार और समाज
लाभान्वित होता है )

Iha yatkriyate karmam tatparatropabhujuyate.
Siktam moolasya vrukshasya phalam shaakhaasu drushyate.

Iha -= this World.    yatkriyate = yat +kriyate.   Yat =whatever.
Kriyate = does.    Karmam = deed, action.   Tatparotrabhujayate/
Tat +parotra+ upabhujuyate.    Tat = that.    Paratra - elsewhere.
Upabhujyate = enjoyed or used.    Siktam = by sprinkling or
watering.    Moolasya = of the root.    Vrukshasya = of a tree.
Phalam = fruits.    Shaakhaasu = branches.   Drushyate =are seen.

i.e.        In this world whatever deeds we do their results are seen
elsewhere,  just like a tree  on being watered at its roots  its fruits
are produced by its branches.

(There is a hidden message in this Subhashita.that whatever good or
 bad deeds one does, their result is visible elsewhere e.g. the family
of a criminal has also to suffer on account of his wrongdoings, and
the family of a virtuous person may get the benefit of his good deeds
in some another form ..)
