Today's Subhashita.

उच्छेदनं   चापचयं  पीडनं   कर्षनं  तथा   |
इति विद्याविदः प्राहुः शत्रौ वृतं  चतुर्विधं || - महासुभषितसंग्रह

भावार्थ -      विद्वानों  का यह  कहना सही है कि  कि है लोगों
की संपत्ति को नष्ट करना, उनका उत्पीडन करना, उनको हानि
पहुंचाना , तथा  शस्त्रों का संग्रह करना,  शत्रुता उत्पन्न करने के
चार  गुप्त ( छिपे हुए ) कारण हैं |

Ucchedanam chaapachayam peeditam karshanm tathaa.
Iti vidyaavidhaa praahuh shatrrau vretah chaturvidhah .

Ucchedanam = destroying.    Chaapachayam = chaapa +
chaya.     Chaapa = bow.(weapons)   Chaya = collection.
Peeditam = torturing   Karshnam = hurting.  Tatha = and.
Iti = this.    Vidyaavidhah = learned persons.   Praahuh  =
saying.    Shatrau = enemies.   Vrutam = hidden .
Chaturvidham = fourfold, of four kinds.

i.e.         Learned persons have rightly said that destroying
the property of others,  torturing them, hurting them, and
accumulating  weapons, these are the four  hidden causes
of enmity between people.
