Today's Subhashita.

उत्तमस्यापि वर्णस्य नीचोSपि गृहमागतः |
पूजनीयो  यथायोग्यं  सर्वदेवमयोSतिथिः  || - महासुभषितसंग्रह

भावार्थ  -      उच्चतम  वर्ण के व्यक्ति (ब्राहमण) के  घर में  यदि
किसी निम्न  वर्ण  का  व्यक्ति (शूद्र ) भी  आता  हो तो  उसका
यथायोग्य आदर सत्कार  करना चाहिये क्यों कि एक अतिथि
(बिना निमन्त्रित किये हुए और बिना किसी पूर्व सूचना के आया
 हुआ व्यक्ति) समस्त देवताओं के समान पूजनीय होता है |

Uttamasyaapi varnasya neechopi gruhamaagatah 
Poojaneeyo yathaayogyam sarvadevamayotithih.

Uttamasyopi = uttamasyo + api.    Yttamasyo = of a person
of highest merits.   Api = even.    Varnasya = social status
in Hindu society divided into four categories i,e, Brahmins,
kshatriyas, vaishyas and shoodras.   Neechopi = neecho +
api.     Neechopi = of a lower category.   Gruhamaagatah =
gruham + aagatah.    Gruham = house, residence,    Aagatah=
comes, arrives.  Poojaneeyo = to be revered.  Yathaayogyam=
courteously, suitably    Sarvadevamayoththih = sarvadevamayo
+ atithih.    Sarvadevamayo =  representing all Gods.  Atithih=
an unannounced guest entitled to hospitality.

i.e.    If a  person of low  caste (a shudra) comes to the house of
a person of the highest caste (a brahmin) as a guest, he should be
welcomed and extended due courtesy because an unannounced
guest is considered as the embodiment of all the Gods.
