Today's Subhashita.

उद्योगान्निवृत्तस्य    सुसहायस्य  धीमतः |
छायेवानुगता तस्य नित्यः श्रीः सहचारिणी || - महासुभषितसंग्रह

भावार्थ -      जो  बुद्धिमान् व्यक्ति  अपने उद्योग को  परिश्रम
 पूर्वक चलाता  है  उसकी सहायता धन संपत्ति  की अधिष्ठात्री
 देवी महालक्ष्मी स्वयं करती हैं तथा जिस प्रकार किसी मनुष्य
 की छाया सदैव उस का अनुसरण करती है उसी तरह महालक्ष्मी
भी सदैव उसके ऊपर अपनी कृपा बनाये  रहती है |

( समृद्धि और सफलता का एक  छाया  के  समान  किसी परिश्रमी
और  चतुर उद्योगपति के साथ  सदैव रहने को एक उपमा के रूप
में इस सुभाषित में प्रयुक्त  कर इसी  तथ्य को प्रतिपादित किया
गया है कि किसी उद्योग की सफलता के  लिये बुद्धिमत्ता तथा
कठोर परिश्रम अति आवश्यक है | )

Udyogaadnivruttasya susahaayasya dheematah
Chaayevaanugataa tasya nityah shreeh sahachaarinee.

Udyogadnivruttasya = udyogaat + nivruttasya,  Udyogaat =
from an enterprise.        Nivruttasya = a person who has
successfully completed a task,         susahaayasya = su +
sahaayasya.   Su = a prefix meaning 'very' .   Sahaayasya =
a helper's.     Dheematah - wise and intelligent person.
Chaayevaanugataa=  chaayaa + iva+ anugataa.    Chaayaa =
a shadow.   Iva = like a.   Anugataa = a follower.    Tasya =
his.   Nityah = daily, always.    Shreeh = goddess of  wealth,     
(wealth and success personified)   Sahachaarinee = a female
companion.

i.e.    An entrepreneur who runs his enterprise with commitment
and hard work, Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, herself favours
him and always remains with him just like the shadow of a
person always accompanying him.

(Through the use of the metaphors of Lakshmi, the goddess of
wealth and the shadow of a person always accompanying him,
the author of this Subhashita has emphasised that for the success
of an enterprise intelligence  and hard work is very essential.)
