Udyamena hi sidhyanti kaaryaani na manorathaih.
Nahi suptasya simhasya pravishanti mukhe mrugaah .
Udyamena = by continuous and strenuous efforts, Hi= surely.
Sidhyanti = are accomplished. Kaaryaani = various tasks
Na = not. Manorathaih= by simply desiring. Nahi = by no
means. Suptasya = sleeping. Simhasya = a loin's
Pravishanti = enter, Mukhe = mouth. Mrugaah = antelopes.
i.e. We can accomplish various tasks only by making
continuous ans strenuous efforts and not by merely wishing to
do so. By no means antelopes themselves do not enter into the
mouth of a sleeping Lion.
(A lion has to hunt and kill animals in a forest to sustain himself.
Simply by sleeping it can not do so. Using this as a simile, the
author of this Subhashita has highlighted the importance of
entrepreneurship.
Very useful website!
