Today's Subhashita.

उपकारः  परो  धर्मः  परोर्थः  कर्मनैपुणं  |
पात्रे दानं परः कामः परो मोक्षो वितृष्णता ||- महासुभषितसंग्रह

 भावार्थ -     निस्वार्थ भाव से लोगों  की सहायता करना सर्वोत्तम
धार्मिक आचरण है तथा सर्वोत्तम संपत्ति किसी भी प्रकार के कार्य
में निपुणता है  सुपात्र व्यक्तियों को दान  देना सर्वोत्तम दान  है |
इसके पश्चात अत्यधिक लालच न करते हुए अपनी इच्छाओं की
पूर्ति और अन्ततः मोक्ष की प्राप्त ही  जीवन का सर्वोत्तं  ध्येय है |

upakaarah paro dharmah parorthah karmanaipunam,
Paatre daanam parah kaamah paro moksho vitrushnataa.

Upakarah = voluntarily helping others.   Paro =  best.
Dharmah = religious austerity.    Pararthah= best form of
wealth.    Karmanaipunam = expertise in doing any work.
Paatre = a deserving person.    Daanam = donation.
Parah =  afterwards.     Kaamah = other desires.   Mokshao =
emancipation, release from rebirth..   Vitrushnataa = freedom
from desire, satiety.

i.e.    Helping voluntarily the needy persons is the best form of
religious austerity and the best form of wealth is expertise in
any subject or work. Giving donations to most deserving persons
is the best form of charity and fulfilling one's needs without being
greedy and ultimately attaining emancipation (Moksha i.e release
from rebirth ) is the best aim of one's life.
