Karishyaami karishyaami karishyaameeti chintayaa
Marishyaami marishyaami marishyaameeti vismrutam,
Karishyaami = I will do. Karishyaameeti = karishyaami + iti.
Iti = it, that, this. Chintaayaa = worry, anxiety. Marishyaami =
I may die, Marishyaameeti = marishyaami + iti, Vismrutam =
forgotten.
i.e. By remaining always remaining engrossed and worried that
I will do this or that task, or I have to perform that task, a person
totally forgets that he is a mortal and death may come at any time.
(Through this Subhashita the author has warned the people that
they are not immortal and they should not involve themselves in
worldly matters so much that they forget religiousness and their
duty towards mankind.)
