आज का सुभाषित /Today's Subhashita

करोति पूज्यमानोSपि लोकव्यसनदीक्षितः |

दर्शने  दर्शने  त्रासं  ग्रहाहिरिव   दुर्जनः       || - महासुभषितसंग्रह(८७८१)

भावार्थ -      जिस प्रकार पूजे जाने पर भी सूर्य, मंगल , शनि ,राहु आदि  

ग्रह  लोगों को भयभीत करते है  और कष्ट देते  हैं,  उसी  प्रकार विभिन्न 

व्यसनों में लिप्त दुष्ट व्यक्ति भी उनका सम्मान किये जाने पर भी वे 

जब  भी जनता के संपर्क में आते हैं उन्हें भयभीत करते हैं ओर कष्ट देते हैं |

(फलित ज्योतिष के अनुसार सूर्य, मंगल, शनि, राहु, और केतु जिन्हें पाप 

ग्रह कहा जाता है विभिन्न   व्यक्तियों की जन्मकुन्डली  के अनुसार अपनी 

ग्रह दशा के समय हानि पहुंचाते हैं |   अतः उनकी पूजा अर्चना तथा उनसे 

संबन्धित माणिक्य, मूंगा, नीलम  आदि रत्नों को धारण करने का विधान 

है ताकि उनका दुष्प्रभाव दूर हो |  दुष्ट व्यक्तियों का स्वभाव भी ऐसा ही होता 

है कि सम्मान किये जाने पर भी वे लोगों को हानि पहुंचाने से बाज नहीं आते  

हैं| इसी तथ्य को एक उपमा के द्वारा इन सुभाषित में प्रतिपादित् किया गया है |)  

Karoti poojyamaanopi lokavyasanadeekshitah.

Darshane darshane traasam grahaahiriva durjanah.

Karoti = does      Poojyamaanopi  =  poojyamaano + api.

Poojyamaano =  worshipped.    Api = even,  Loka +vyasana

+ deekshitah.    Loka = public.   Vyasan = bad habits, hobby.

Deekshitah = initiated in.    Darshane = by seeing,  Traasam =

fear, terror.    Grahaahiriva = grahaahi _ iva.    Grahaah =

P.lanets in the sky.   Iva = like.  Durjanaah = wicked persons.

i.e.  Just as Sun, Mars, Saturn etc, in spite of being worshipped
are said to harm and torment people, in the same manner wicked
persons involved in various vices  ,in spite of being given proper
respect, when ever they come into contact of the public do not
hesitate to terrorise them.

(In Astrology the Planets Sun, Mars, Saturn,,Dragon's head and
Dragon's tail are termed as evil Planets and it is said that during
their 'Dasha' (period)  according to the  horoscope of a person,
they torment him in various ways.     To appease them there is a
provision of worshipping them and wearing various gems.    By
using  this as a simile  the author has highlighted  the  nature and
habit of wicked persons of harming others without any cause.)
