आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

करोतु तादृशी प्रीतिं यादृशी नीरपङ्कयोः  |
रविणा शोषिते  नीरे पङ्गदेहो  विशीर्यते  || - महासुभषितसंग्रह(८७९४)

भावार्थ -       यदि प्रीति (प्रेम) करना हो तो ऐसी करो जैसी जल और
कीचड  के बीच में होती है | जब् सूर्य अपनी किरणों से जल को वाष्प
(भाप) बना कर उडा देता है तो कीचड के भी (जल के अभाव में ) टूट
कर छोटे छोटे टुकडे  हो जाते हैं | उसी प्रकार प्रेमी और प्रेमिका भी एक
दूसरे से दूर होने पर मानसिक रूप से टूट जाते हैं |

Karotu taadrushee preetim yaadrushee neerapankayoh.
Ravinaa shoshite neere pangadeho visheeryate.

Karotu = do     Taadrushee = such a one.   Preetim = love.
Yaadrushee = as like.    Neera = water.   Pankayoh = mud.
Ravinaa = by the Sun.   Shoshite = absorbed, evaporated.
Pangdeho = panka + deho.    Deho = body, surface, bulk.
Visheeryate = crumbles, breaks into small pieces.

i.e.           If one falls in love with some one else, the love
should be intense like the water and the mud . Just as when
the Sun's rays evaporate the water,the mud dries and breaks
into small pieces. Similarly the lovers' hearts are broken
whenever they are separated from each other.
