कलत्रचिन्ताकुचित्तस्य पुंसः श्रुतं च शीलं च गुणाश्च सर्वे |
अपक्वकुम्भो निहिता इवापः प्रयान्ति देहेन समं विनाशं ||
महासुभषितसंग्रह (८९७२)
भावार्थ - यदि कोई व्यक्ति अपनी पत्नी को बुरी भावना
से देखता या उसके बारे में सोचता है तो उसकी धार्मिकता ,
चरित्र तथा गुण सभी उसी प्रकार नष्ट हो जाते हैं जिस
प्रकार एक मिट्टी के कच्चे घडे में भरा हुआ जल बह कर नष्ट
हो जाता है |
Kalatrachintakuchittasya pumsah -
shrutam cha sheelam cha gunaashcha sarve.
Apakvakumbho nihitaa ivaapah -
prayaanti dehena saamam vinaasham.
Kalatra = wife. Chinta = worry. Kuchittasya = with bad
intentions. Pumsah = a man, Shrutam = sacred knowledge.
teachings. Cha = and. Sheelam = moral conduct, virtue.
Gunaashcha = gunaah + cha. Gunaah = quality, Sarve =
all . Apakva = raw. Kumbho = an earthen pitcher.
Nihitaa = placed . Ivaapah = iva + aapah. Iva = like a.
Apah - water. Prayaanti = depart. Dehena = of the body.
Samam = in a similar manner. Vinashyati = vanish..
i.e. If a person thinks about his wife with bad intention and
behaves accordingly, then his religiosity, morality, virtues and
good qualities vanish just like water stored in a raw earthen
pitcher leaks out and is wasted.
