आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

कलहान्तानि  हर्म्याणि कुवाक्यान्तं च सौहृदं |
कुराजान्तानि राष्ट्राणि कुकर्मान्तं  यशो नृणां || - महासुभाषितसंग्रह (९०००)

भावार्थ -   आपसी कलह और वैमनस्य के कारण बडे बडे  राज
प्रासाद नष्ट  हो जाते हैं तथा कटु वचन कहने से सौहार्द्र (मित्रता)
समाप्त हो जाती है |   यदि राजा (शासक) अयोग्य और दुष्ट हो
तो राष्ट्र का नाश हो जाता है  तथा बुरे कर्म करने से लोगों का यश
(मान सम्मान ) नष्ट हो जाता है  |

kalahaantaani harmyaani kuvaakyaantam  cha saurabham.
Kurajaantaani raashtraani kukarmaantam yasho nrunaam.

Kalahaantaani =  Kalaha + antaani.   Kalaha =quarrels and
deceit.     Antani = end, destruction, Harmyaani = palaces.
Kuvaakyaantam - kuvaakya+ antam     Kuvaakya = foul and
derogatory language.    Antam = termination of.   Cha =and.
Sauhrudam = friendship    Kuraajaantani = kuraajaa +antaani.
Kurajaa = incompetent and bad kings.   Raashtraani = Nations,
Kingdoms.  Kukarmaantam= Kukarma + antam.   Kukarma =
wicked deeds.   Yasho =fame.   Nrunaam = people.

i.e.       Quarrels and deceit results in destruction of  big palaces
(and their residents)m and use of foul and derogatory language
results in termination of friendship.  Likewise, incompetent and
bad kings (rulers) result in destruction of Nations and kingdoms
and wicked deeds done by people result in their defamation.
