आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.h

महा शिवरात्रि पर्व के अवसर पर भगवान श्री शङ्कर की स्तुति |

यस्याङ्के च विभाति भूधरसुता  देवापगा मस्तके
भाले  बालविधुर्गले  च  गरलं यस्योरसि व्यालराट्  |
सोSयं  भूतिविभूषणः सुरवरः  सर्वाधिपः  सर्वदा
शर्वः सर्वगतः शिवः शशिनिभः श्रीशङ्करः पातु माम् || -तुससीकृत रामायण

भावार्थ -  जिनकी गोद में हिमाचलसुता पार्वती जी , मस्तक पर गङ्गा जी,
ललाट पर द्वितीया का चन्द्रमा , कण्ठ में हलाहल  विष , और वक्षःस्थल
पर सर्पराज शेषजी सुशोभित हैं , वे भस्म से विभूषित , देवताओं में श्रेष्ठ ,
सर्वेश्वर, संहारकर्ता ,सर्वव्यापक, कल्याणरूप, चन्द्रमा के समान शुभ्रवर्ण ,
श्रीशङ्कर  सदा मेरी रक्षा करें |

Yasyaanke = in whose lap.    Vibhaati = shines brightly.  Bhoodharsuta=
Daughter of Himalaya mountain i.e goddess Paarvati, the consort of Lord
Shiva,   Devapaga = sacred river Ganges, emerging from the feet of God.
Mastake = forehead.    Mastake = head.    Bhaale = foreheaad.    Baala-
vidhuh = crescent moon.   Gale = throat.   Cha = and.    Garalam = the
poison 'Kaalkoot' .   Yasya = whose   Urasi = broad chest.   Vyaalraat =
King of serpents i,e. 'Sheshnaag' .   Soyam =  He.   Bhootivibhooshaanah =
ash smeared over the body as an embellishment,    Suravarah = seniormost
among the Gods,   Sarvaadhiah = ruler of all humanity.   Sarvadaa = always.
Sharvah = reference to Lord Shiva.   Sarvagatah = ubiquitous.(omnipresent)
Shashinibhah =with fair complexion like that of Moon.   Paatu = protect.
Maam = mem.

i.e.   Praying the Lord Shiva the poet says -

Let the almighty God Shiva in whose lap sits Parvati the daughter of Himalayas,
the sacred river Ganges rests over whose head, the crescent moon adorns whose
forehead, the poison Halahal adorns whose throat, a serpent adorns whose
chest like a garland, ash is smeared over whose entire body as ornamentation,
who is senior most  among all Gods, having his presence every where, whose
complexion is fair like the bright full Moon,   always protect me from all evils.
