काचो मणिर्मणिः काचो येषां तेSन्ये हि देहिनः |
सन्ति ते सुधियां येषां काचः काचो मणिर्मणिः || - महासुभषित सं ग्रह(९३६०)
भावार्थ - जो व्यक्ति एक कांच के टुकडे को एक मणि समझते हैं और
एक मणि को कांच समझते हैं वे निश्चय ही एक अलग प्रकार के (मूर्ख)
व्यक्ति होते हैं | ऐसे व्यक्ति जो कांचा को कांच तथा एक मणि को मणि
ही समझते हैं वे चतुर व्यक्ति कह्लाते हैं |
Kaacho manrmanih kaacho yeshaam tenye hi dehinah.
Santi tey sudhiyaam yeshaam kaachah kaacho manrmanih.
Kaacho = ordinary glass. Manirmanih = Manih+ manih.
Manih = a precious stone. Yesham =for whom. Tenye =
tey + anye. Tey = they. Anye = others. Hi = surely.
Dehinah = living beings. Santi = are. Sudhiyaam = wise,
clever persons. Yeshaam = for whom.
i.e. Those persons who consider a piece of ordinary glass
as a precious stone and a precious stone as ordinary glass, are
living beings of a different kind (foolish persons). But those
persons for whom a piece of glass is is glass and a precious
stone as a precious stone are considered as wise and clever
persons.
