कार्यं च शान्तदीप्तं ज्ञात्वा विद्वान्विचारयेत्सर्वं |
शान्ते शान्तं ग्राह्यं दीप्ते दीप्तं च गृह्नीयात् || -महासुभषितसंग्रह(९७२७)
भावार्थ - विद्वान व्यक्तियों को पहले भली प्रकार यह विचार कर लेना चाहिये
कि किये जाना वाला कार्य चुपचाप करने के योग्य है या तडक भडक के साथ
किया जाना चाहिये, तदनुसार ही आवश्यकतानुसार उन्हें चुपचाप या धूमधाम
से करना चाहिये |
Kaaryam cha shaantadeeptam jaatvaa vidvaanvichaarayetsarvam.
Shaante shaantam graahyam deepte deeptam cha gruhneeyaat.
Kaaryam = work. cha = and. Shaanta= calm, quiet. Deeptam =
bright, pompous. Gyaatvaa = knowing, understanding. Vidvaan =
learned men. Vichaarayet = investigate, deliberaate. Sarvam =
all every thing. Shante = to the work to be done quietly. Shaantam=
quietly. Deepte = pompous work, Gruhneeyaat = undertaken .
i.e. Wise men should always deliberate before undertaking a work
whether it is to be done quietly or with pomp and splendor. Accordingly
they should always undertake the work quietly or with pomp and splendor
depending upon the nature of the work and circumstances.
