आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

न  प्रहृष्यति  सम्माने  नापमाने  च  कुप्यति  |
न  क्रुद्धः परुषं ब्रूयात्  स  वै  साधूत्तमः स्मृतः || - मनुस्मृति

भावार्थ -   जो व्यक्ति सम्मानित किये जाने पर प्रसन्नता  व्यक्त नहीं
करता है  और न  ही अपमानित किये जाने   या अपशब्द कहे जाने पर
क्रोधित  होता  है , वही साधु  संतों  में श्रेष्ठतम  माना जाता है  |

Na prahrusyati sammaane naapamaane cha kupyati.
Na kruddhah parusham brooyaat  sa vai saadhoottamah smrutah.

Na = not.       Prahrushyati = rejoices, becomes cheerful.
Sammaane = on being honoured.    Naapamaane = na+apamaane.
Apamaane =  on being insulted or  treated with disrespect .
Kupyati = becomes angry,     Kruddhah = angry.      Parusham =
harsh words.    Brooyaat =on being spoken.    Sa = he.       Vai =
an adverb placed after a word  for laying  emphasis on it.  
Saadhootamah =  best among noble persons.    Smrutah = declared
or remembered as.

i.e.    A person who does no become overjoyed on being honoured,
and does not become angry  on being treated with disrespect  and
addressed with harsh words, is  considered  as the best among the
noble  and saintly persons.
