आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

          आज   'मयूरान्योक्ति ' का उदाहारण प्रस्तुत हैं  जिस में एक मयूर
(मोर पक्षी) को एक उपमान के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया गया है :-
           यत्नादपि कः पश्यति शिखिनामाहार निर्गमस्थानम्  |
           यदि जलदनिनदमुदितास्त   एव  मूढा  न  नृत्येयुः    || - शार्ङ्गधर

भावार्थ -     अनेक प्रयत्न करने पर भी कोई एक मयूर (मोर) पक्षी के मल
निष्काषन स्थान (गुदा द्वार) को  तब तक नहीं देख सकता है जब तक कि
आकाश में बादलों के गरजने से प्रमुदित हो कर वह् मूर्ख पक्षी स्वयं नृत्य नहीं
करने लगता है |

(मोरों का यह स्वभाव है कि आकाश में जब मेघ गरजने लगते है और तेज
वृष्टि होने लगती  है तो वे प्रसन्न हो कर अपने पंख फैला कर नृत्य करने लगते
हैं और इस प्रक्रिया में उनके गुप्तांग भी दिखाई देते है जो साधारण स्थिति में
छुपे रहते है |   कहने का तात्पर्य यह है कि जब् भी कोई व्यक्ति अत्यन्त आनन्द
की स्थिति में होता है (नशा करने के या किसी अन्य कारण से) उस समय  वह
अपने ऐसे गुप्त भेद भी अनचाहे में प्रकट कर देता है जो उसे गुप्त रखने चाहिये | )

    Here is another example of an 'Anyooraokti'  termed as 'Mayoraanyokati ' ,
because  a 'Mayoora'  (peacock) has been used as an analogy.

            Yatnaadapi kah pashyanti shikhinaam-aahaara nirgama-sthaanam.
             Yadi jalada-ninada-muditaasta eva moodaa  na  nrutyeyuh.

Yaatnaadapi = even after making special efforts.    Kah = who   Pashyanti =
are able to see.   Shikhinaam = peacocks.     Aahaara = food.    Nirgam =
exit.    Sthaanam = place.    Aahar nirgam sthaan =  anus (a private part of
the body from where digested food exits from the body as feces,)   Yadi =if.
Jalada = a cloud.   Ninaad = rumbling noise made by the clouds.  Muditasta=
delighted by.   Eva = really.   Moodhaa =  stupid, and ignorant     Na = not.  
Nrutyeyuh = would have danced.

i.e.      Even after making special efforts  one can not see the anus (private part)
of a peacock until such time when the stupid and ignorant bird starts dancing with
joy on hearing the rumbling sound of rain clouds in the sky.

( It is the  inherent nature of peacocks that whenever there is a cloud burst and  a
heavy downpour of rain, they start dancing with joy by spreading their colorful
wings and in that process their private parts are visible , which generally always
remain concealed. What the author wants to emphasize here is that whenever a
person is in a very happy state of mind (due to intoxication or any other reason)
he unknowingly discloses his secrets, which he would otherwise never do .)
