आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

एकस्य तस्य मन्ये धन्यामम्बुन्नतिं  जलधरस्य  |

विश्वं सशैल काननमाननमवलोकते  यस्य          || - (स्फुट) 

भावार्थ -     मेरी यही  मान्यता है कि एक मेघ को लोग शुभ और
गुणवान केवल इस लिये मानते हैं कि उस के द्वारा प्रदत्त जल से
 ही हम  उन्नति करते हैं  तथा समस्त विश्व के वन  और पर्वत उस
की ओर आशा भरी दृष्टि से प्रचुर जलवृष्टि होने की कामना करते हैं |

(जल और वायु प्रकृति के दो ऐसे घटक हैं जिन के बिना संसार में प्राणी
जीवित नहीं रह सकते हैं |  पृथ्वी में जल के वितरण का प्रमुख साधन
जल से परिपूर्ण मेघ ही होते हैं और मनुष्य के सारे क्रियाकलाप  वृष्टि
पर ही निर्भर होते हैं,जिसे  इस 'मेघान्योक्ति ' में प्रतीकात्मक रूप से
व्यक्त किया गया है  | कहा भी गया है कि - "जल ही जीवन है " | )

Ekasya  tasya  manye dhanyaamambunnatim jaladharasya.ee

Vishvam sashaila kaananam-anananm-avalokate  yasya.

Ekasya = One.    Tasya = his, its.   Manye = I think.  Dhanyaam=
virtuous , auspicious.    Ambu   = water.  Unnatim =  prosperity.

increase.    Jaladharasya = of the cloud.    Vishvam =  the World.
Sashaila = mountainous.   Kaanana = forests.   Ananam = face.
Avalokate = observe, behold.   Yasya = whose.

i.e.      I think that people consider a rain bearing cloud auspicious,
because the living beings on the Earth  progress only because of the
precious water provided by it and  all the forests and mountains of
the World look forward towards it  with the hope of getting  copious
rainfall.

( Water and air are the two major components of Nature .for the
existence of living beings on the Earth.  In this 'Anyokti' (allegory)
the author has expressed the importance of Water for the humanity.)
