आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

जलधर जलभरनिकरैरपहर परितापमुद्धरं जगतः |
नोचेदपसर  दूरं हिमकरकर  दर्शनं  वितर             || -शार्ङ्गधर

भावार्थ -     ओ जल से भरे हुए मेघ !   ऊष्णता (गरमी ) से त्रस्त
इस पृथ्वी के कष्टों को जलवृष्टि के द्वारा दूर करो  अन्यथा यहां
से दूर शीतलता प्रदान करने वाले चन्द्रमा के दर्शनो के लिये चले
जाओ ||

(यह सुभाषित भी एक 'मेघान्योक्ति ' है | इस में बादलों से व्यङ्ग्य
पूर्वक कहा  गया है कि यदि तुम गरमी से संतप्त  लोगों के कष्ट को
दूर करने के लिये वृष्टि नहीं करते हो तो हमें क्या लाभ है | इससे अच्छा
तो तुम सुदूर चन्द्रदर्शन करने के लिये (हिमालय में ) चल जाओ |
लाक्षणिक रूप से इसका तात्पर्य यह  है कि यदि धन संपत्ति यदि
लोगों के कष्ट दूर करने के काम न आये तो वह् दूर से चन्द्रदर्शन करने
के समान है | )

Jaladhar  jalabharnikarairapahara paritaapamuddharam jagat.
Nochedapasar dooram himakarakara darshanam vitar.

Jaladhara = a cloud.     Jalabharanikarairapahara = jalabhara+
nikaraih + apahar.   Jalabhara = bringing water.   Nikaraih =
multitudes.  Apahara=take away , deprive.   Paritaapamuddhatam=
Paritaap + uddhatam.    Paritaap = heat, sorrow.   Uddhatam =
proudly, carelessly.    Jagat = this world.    Nochedapahar = no +
chet= apasara.   Nochet = otherwise.   Apasara =apology,distance.
Dooram= far away..    Himakarakaradarshanam = himakar + kara+
dardhsnsm.    Himakara = Moon, causing cold    Kara  =causing cold,
Darshanam = see.    Vitara = leading far away.

 i.e.     O rain bearing cloud full of water !  give relief to  the World
suffering from intense heat by providing your water.  Otherwise ,
better go to far away places to view the Moon (to cool yourself).

(The above Subhashita is also an 'Anyokti' using a satire. The author
says that of what use is a cloud if it does not rain.  The idea behind it
is that wealth if not used for mitigating the hardships of needy people
it is of no use and is like viewing the moon far away.)
