तिमिरारिस्तमोहन्यादिति शङ्कितमानसाः ||
Vayam kaakaa vayam kaakaa jalpanteeti prage dvikaah.
Timiraaristamohanyaaditi shankitamaanasaah |
Vayam = we. Kaakaa = crows. Jalpanteeti = jalpanti +
iti. Jalpanti = chattering, talk loosely Iti = it. Prage =
in the morning. Dvikaah = having two 'ka' alphabets in
their name i.e. crows, Timiraaristamonanyaaditi = timira+
ari + tamo + hanyaat +iti. Timira = darkness. Ari =enemy.
timirari = the Sun (enemy of darkness). Tamo = darkness.
Hanti = kills, destroys. Shankita = suspicious, doubtful.
Manasaah = mind.
by
i.e. After the Sunrise in the morning the crows talk loosely,
that we are crows , we are crows, as if they are suspicious and
doubtful about the fact that the darkness oi the night is destroyed
by the rising Sun.
(The above Subhashita is also a 'Kaakaanyokti' The underlying
idea behind it is that there are some people in the society who are
always suspicions and doubtful about even an established fact and
make much hue and cry about it, like the crows making loud noise
at the time of the Sunrise.)
