आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhahashita

 
सर्वे  तस्यादृता  धर्मा  यस्यैते  तत्र  आदृता  |
अनादृतास्तु यस्यैते सर्वास्तस्याफला:  क्रियाः ||
                                       - मनुस्मृति (२/२३४)

भावार्थ -   जिस  गृहस्थ के घर में माता,  पिता और  गुरुओं
का आदर होता है वहां सभी धर्मों का भी आदर होता है  और
जिसके घर में इन तीनों का निरादर होता है उसके द्वारा किये
गये सभी धर्म-कर्म निष्फल (व्यर्थ ) हो जाते हैं  |

Sarve tasyaadrutaa dharmaa yasyaite tatra aadrutaa .
Anaadrutaa yasyaite sarvastasyaaphalaah kriyaah.

Sarve = all    Tasyaadrutaa = tasya+ aadrutaa.   Tasya =
their (reference to Parents and Teachers as per the earlier
shloka)    Aadrutaa = respect, attentiveness .  Dharmaa =
various religions     Yasyaite = yasya + aite.     Yasya=
where.    Aite = these.    Tatra = there.     Anaadrutaa =
not respected, .    Tu = but.        Sarvastasyaaphalaah =
sarvaah+tasya+ aphalaah.   Sarvaah = all,   Tasya=
their.    Aphalaah = futile.    Kriyaah =  actions.

i.e.    In a  family where parents and teachers are given
due respect and attention , various other religions are also
respected.  But in a household where these three are not
respected , all the activities done by it ultimately become
futile.
