Today's Subhashita..

Harturyaati na gocharam kimapi shm pushnaati yatsarvadaa.
Hyaarthibhyah pratipaadyamaanamanisham praapnoti vrudddhim paraam.
Kalpaanteshvapi na prayaati nidhanam vidyaakhyamantardhanam.
Yeshaam taanprati maanamujjhat nrupaah kastaih saha  spardhate.

Harturyaati = hartuh + yaati.    Hartuh = a thief.   Yaati = is able .
Na = not.   Gocharam = visible.    Kimapi = kim + api  = even then.
Shm = happiness.    Pushnaati = bestows.  Yatsarvadaa = always.
Hyaarthibhy= hi + arthibhyah.   Hi = surely.   Arthibhyah = those
seeking wealth.   Pratipaadya + maanam+ anisham.   Pratipaadya = give.
Maan = respect.   Anisham = constantly.  Praapnoti = gets.  Vruddhim =
growth.   Paraam = excellent.   Kalpaanteshu= end of a Kalpa (measure of
time in millions of years.  Api = even.  Na = not.       Prayaati = becomes.
Nidhanam = perishes.      Vidya + aakhyam  +antardhanam.       Vidyaa =
knowledge.   Aakhya = is said to be.   Antardhanam = Hidden wealth.
Yeshaam = whom.   Taaanpriti = towards them.     Maanam+Ujjhata.
Maanam = pride.    Ujjhat = give up.    Nrupaah = kings.     Kahh+taih .
Kahh = what.    Taih = they.   Saha = with.    Spardhate =compete.

i.e.   Knowledge is such a wealth that it is always invisible to a thief ,
but still it bestows happiness to the person possessing it.  If he donates
this wealth to its seekers, then his respect and the wealth both increase
continuously and such wealth does not perishes even after many ages.
Only for this reason knowledge is termed as a hidden wealth and even
Kings honour such knowledgeable persons by shedding their pride.
Who can compete with such learned persons  ?
