आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

यत्राSभ्यागत दानमानचरणप्रक्षालनं भोजनं
सत्सेवापितृदेवताSर्चनविधिः  सत्यं  गवां पालनम्  |
धान्यानामपि संग्रहो न कलहश्चित्ताSनुरूपा प्रिया
हृष्टा प्राह हरिं  वसानि कमला तस्मिन् गृहे निश्चला ||
                                     - सुभाषित रत्नाकर (स्फुट )

भावार्थ -   जिस व्यक्ति के घर में  एक अभ्यागत (मेहमान) का स्वागत
उसके चरण धो कर, धन दे कर तथा भोजन करा कर किया जाता हो, तथा
विधिपूर्वक साधुओं , परिवार के वरिष्ठ जनों और देवताओं की नित्य  पूजा
अर्चना की जाती हो,  वह सत्यवादी हो , घर में गाय पाली जाती हो , विभिन्न
प्रकार के अन्न घर में सदैव संग्रहीत रहते हों,  कलह (झगडा ) न होता हो,
और उसकी पत्नी भी उसके अनुकूल हो, ऐसे घर में अपने पति विष्णु भगवान
की सहमति से  देवी महालक्ष्मी प्रसन्नता पूर्वक सदैव  निवास करती है |

(एक सद्गृहस्थ में जो गुण होने चाहिये उनका वर्णन इस सुभाषित में किया
गया है और यह प्रतिपादित किया गया है कि ऐसे व्यक्ति पर महालक्ष्मी की
कृपा सदैव बनी रहती है |

Yatra-abhyaagata Daana-maana-charana  prakshaalanam bhojanam.
Satsevaava-pitru-devataarchana-vidhih  satyam  gavaam paalanam.
Dhaanyaanaam-api smgraho na kalahash-chittanuroopaa priyaa.
hurhstaa praaha harim vasaani kamalaa tasmin gruhe nishchalaa.

Yatra = where.   Abhyaagata = a guest.    Daana = donation.   Maana=
respect.   Charana = feet.   Prakshaalanam = washing.   Bhojanam  =
meal.      Satsevaa = service to noble persons.    Pitru =  elders in the
family.   Devata = various gods.    Archanvidhih = worshiping .
Satyam = truthful.    Gavaam + cows.    Paalanam = upbringing.
Dhaanyaanaam = various types of foodgrains.   Api = even,   Smgraho=
maintaining the stock of.   Na = not.   Kalaha = quarrels   Chittanuroopo=
accorrding to one's liking.   Priyaa = wife.    Hrushtaa = cheerful, pleased.
Praaha = instructs.     Harim = the God Vishnnu.     Vasaami = live in. 
Kamalaa = Goddess Lakshmi.   Tasmin = that.  Gruhe = at the home of.   
Nishchalaa = immovable,

i.e.      In a household where guests are honored by washing their feet,
feeding them with  tasty meals and by giving gifts, noble persons, elders
of the household and Gods are worshipped as per norms, all the members
of the household are truthful,  cows are  reared (brought up ) ,  various
types of foodgrains are well stocked , there is  no quarreling among its
members,  there is mutual understanding between the husband and wife,
then Goddess Lakshmi with the concurrence of her consort God Vishnu
gladly remains for ever in such a household.

detailed in this Subhashita. In such a household Mahalkshmi, the goddess
of wealth ,always bestows here benevolence, is the message conveyed by
the abve Subhashita. )
