आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

अर्थः सुखं कीर्तिरपीहि  मा  भूदनर्थएवाSवास्तु  तथाSपि धीराः |
निजप्रतिज्ञामधिरूढमाना  महोद्यमाः  कर्म समारभन्ते           ||
                                              - शार्ङ्गधर  (महासुभषितसंग्रह )

भावार्थ -   चाहे धन संपत्ति, सुख तथा समाज में प्रसिद्धि न हो और उसी प्रकार
अन्य हानिप्रद  घटनायें भी क्यों न हों,  फिर भी धीर (मेहनती और दृढ इच्छा
शक्ति संपन्न ) और महान उद्यमी व्यक्ति उनके द्वारा की गयी प्रतिज्ञा से
बंधे हुए अपना निर्धारित कार्य प्रारम्भ कर देते हैं |

(इस सुभाषित का तात्पर्य यह है कि धीर और दृढप्रतिज्ञ व्यक्ति अपने कार्य के
दौरान आने वाली विघ्न बाधाओं से नहीं घबराते हैं और अपने लक्ष्य की प्राप्ति
की ओर बढे चलते हैं | )

Arthah sukham keertirapeehi maa bhoodanarthaevaastu tathaapi
 dheeraah.
Nijapratigyaamadhiroodhamaanaa mahodyamaah  karma  samaarabhante,

Arthah =wealth.   Sukham =happiness.   Keertirsapeehi = keertih + apeeha
keertih = fame, reputation.    Maa= no, not.   Bhoodanarthaevaastu = bhoot +
anartha +eva+ astu.   Bhoot =happen.   Anartha = harmful, disastrous.  Eva=
really, thus.   Astu = be it so.   Tathaapi = even then.   Dheeraah = persons who
are brave and of firm determination.  Nija+ pratigyaam + adhiroodhamaanaa =
nija = self.    Pratigyaam= commitment, vow.   Adhiroodhamaanaa = ascended,
commited.    Mahodyamaah =  very industrious persons.   Karma =  work.
samaarabhante = commence, take in hand.

i.e.       Persons who are brave, industrious and with firm determination , are not
deterred by not having wealth, happiness and fame in society or by other harmful
incidents being faced by them, and byadhering to their commitment proceed with
the work taken in hand by them.
