अन्यथैव हि सौहार्दं भवेत्स्वच्छाSन्तरात्मनः |
प्रवर्ततेSन्यथा वाणी शाठ्योपहतचेतसः ||

भावार्थ - सहृदय (स्वच्छ मानसिकता वाले) व्यक्ति निश्चय ही मित्रतापूर्ण
व्यवहार करने वाले होते हैं | परन्तु विकृत मानसिकता और हिंसक प्रवृत्ति
वाले व्यक्तियों की वाणी (बोलचाल्) और व्यवहार इसके ठीक विपरीत होता है |
Anyathaiva hi sauhaardam bhavetsvacchaantaraatmanah.
Pravartatenyathaa vaanee shaathyopahatachetasah.
Anyathaiva = anyathhaa + iva. Anyathaa = otherwise.
Aiva = thus, really. Hi = surely. Sauhaardam = affection, friendship.
Bhavetsvacchantaraatmaah = bhavet +svaccha+antaraatmanaaah.
Bhavet =should happen. Svaccha = clean. Antaraatmanah = heart,
mind. Pravartate = deal with, proceed Anyathaa = in a different
manner. Vanee = diction, way of speaking. Shaathyopahatachetasah=
shaathya+ upahata+ chetasah. Shathya =deceit. Upahat= destructive.
Chetasah = mind.
i.e. Persons with clean and kind mentality are definitely very friendly
and kind towards others, whereas the diction and behaviour of deceitful
persons with destructive mentality is just the opposite.
