किं करोति नरः प्राज्ञः शूरो वाSप्यथ पण्डितः |
दैवं यस्य च्छलान्वेषि करोति विफला आ करे क्रियाः ||- शार्ङ्गधर
भावार्थ - कोई व्यक्ति चाहे वह बुद्धिमान, शूर वीर अथवा विद्वान
ही क्यों न हो, यदि दैव (भाग्य) उसके साथ छल कर रहा हो (उसके
विपरीत हो) तो उसके द्वारा किये गये सभी कार्य यदि निष्फल हो
जाते हैं और उसे कुछ नहीं सूझता है कि वह क्या करे |
Kim karoti narah praagyah shooro vaapyatha panditah.
Daivam yasya cchalaanveshi karoti viphalaa kriyaah.
Kim = what Karoti = does. Narah = a person. Praagyah=
wise , intelligent . Shooro = brave. Vaapyatha = vaa+ api +
atha. Vaa = or. Api = even. Atha = now. Panditah = a
learned person. Daivam = fate, destiny. Yasya =whose.
Cchalaanveshi = cha + chala+ anveshi. Cha = and.
Cchala = deceit, fraud Anveshi = searcher. Karoti = does.
Viphalaa = futile., useless, fruitless. Kriyaah = operations.
i.e. A person may be wise and intelligent, brave and very
learned , but if the destiny is against him all the operations done
by him bear no fruitful results and he is in a fix as to what he
should do now.
